CONDITIONS OF HIRE
During the period of hire you, as hirer, will be responsible for the supervision of the premises,
care of furniture and other equipment; you will be charged for any damage or replacement of
furniture or other equipment. Damage will be assessed by a representative of the committee
whose decision will be final.
As hirer, you will be responsible for leaving the premises and surrounding area in a clean and
tidy condition otherwise the Committee may take a deduction from the Security Bond. All
equipment or other personal possessions brought to the Centre by hirers MUST be removed
from the premises at the end of the hire period. THIS INCLUDES REMOVAL OF ALL RUBBISH.
All users of the Centre must arrive and leave the Centre quietly. Hirers are responsible for
ensuring there Is no nuisance, especially noise nuisance, to neighbours during the hire or at
the time of arrival or when leaving.
A telephone is situated in the kitchen for emergency calls only: to contact Emergency Services
dial 9 - 999.
Hirers must not use or obstruct the Residents' Car Parking spaces adjoining the Centre's car
park.
All Saturday lettings MUST vacate the premises by Midnight (2400 hours) at the latest after
clearing and cleaning the Centre.
Sunday Lettings MUST vacate the premises by 11 pm (2300 hours) after clearing and cleaning
the Centre.
If music is used by the hirer it MUST NOT cause noise nuisance to the neighbourhood and ALL
MUSIC MUST STOP 30 minutes before leaving. (See below)
The hirer Is responsible for obtaining licenses regarding:
- the consumption of intoxicants. Approval of the Committee must be obtained before a License
for the consumption of intoxicants is submitted.
- performing rights; or
- other regulatory organisations.
The rules of these authorities must be observed together with all other regulations appertaining
to the premises stipulated by the Fire Authority, the Local Authority, the local Magistrates Court
or other authority.
Hirers may move furniture or equipment but ALL furniture and equipment MUST be cleaned and
returned to Its storage position before leaving. Please note chairs must be stacked no more
than 6 high for safety.
All Exit Doors and Fire Exits MUST be kept free from obstruction at all times.
ONLY the Front Door should be used by hirers. In an emergency doors in Rooms I and 2 may be
used. Emergency doors must be kept closed during parties or discos to avoid noise nuisance to
neighbours. Electric power will be cut off if the Emergency Door in Room I is opened. The door
at the back of the Hall Is NOT a Fire Exit and cannot be used.
All decorations or scenery must be of incombustible materials and MUST be removed, without
damage to the premises, before leaving.

No additional cooking or heating facilities may be brought into the building by the hirer or any
person acting on his\her behalf without prior written permission from the Committee.
The maximum number of people allowed in The Centre at any one time is 150. The maximum in
Rooms 1 or 2 is 40 persons.
The Committee reserves a right of entry to the building during any period of hire for its
members, employees or agents. The hirer shall comply with any directions given on behalf of
the Committee.
The Committee does not accept responsibility or liability for any loss, damage or injury
whatsoever arising from the hire of the premises subject to common law and any statutory
rights for the time being in force.
The hirer shall indemnify the Committee, its employees or agents from and against all claims,
loss, damage and expense which may be brought against or incurred or suffered by the
Committee and its employees or agents, caused by any acts of negligence of the hirer or other
persons other than the Committee's members or agents on the premises at the time of hire.
The hirer is recommended to put in place the necessary insurance to cover public liability.
The hirer must not use the premises for any other purpose than that stated on the Application
Form and should ensure that all activities are conducted in an orderly and lawful manner.
The charges made for the letting includes the use of the kitchen but the intention to use the
kitchen should be stated at the time of booking; the kitchen may have to be shared with other
users.
The Committee reserves the right to refuse or cancel a letting at any time or to terminate a
regular letting.
The Committee reserves the right to re-allocate room\rooms at short notice if necessary.
Hirers may only sell or distribute tickets for functions via their own membership or organisation.
Functions may not be advertised to the public except In the case of fund-raising events.
The Hirer is deemed to Include the hirer; his\her employees or agents.
In the event of The Centre or any part thereof being rendered unfit for the use for which it had
been hired the Committee will not be liable to the hirer for any resulting loss or damage
whatsoever.
Cancellation charges may be levied depending on the reasons for cancellation. The committee
requires a minimum of two weeks’ notice of cancellation otherwise the full hire charge will be
levied. An administration charge may be made in all cases.
